Role Overview

The Principal Architect will possess comprehensive knowledge of complete IT services in the realm of application engineering and enterprise-level delivery. This position is crucial for providing integrated technology solutions with a strong emphasis on integrity and automation.

Key Responsibilities

    • Application Development: In-depth understanding of modern application structures and the workings of application delivery teams, with hands-on experience in application development.
    • Infrastructure: Expertise in designing solutions across diverse infrastructure environments, including physical, virtual, and cloud settings.
    • Data Management: Solid grasp of data principles such as lineage and integrity.
    • Security: Strong appreciation for security principles necessary for maintaining secure technology solutions.

Purpose of the Role

The objective is to establish direction and design solutions for the bank's most intricate IT systems and platforms, employing industry-leading methodologies to address complex functional and non-functional requirements.

Accountabilities
  • Define the strategic architectural direction for specialized technology areas, such as trading platform development.
  • Provide deep technical expertise in designing and assessing complex technology architectures, overseeing solution architects to foster continuous learning within the architecture community.
  • Manage innovative design and engineering initiatives, collaborating with technical experts to resolve complex challenges that align with the bank's technology strategy.
  • Develop and promote architectural standards, guidelines, and governance policies to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance, mitigating risks such as breaches and regulatory violations.
  • Identify emerging technology trends and innovations that may influence the bank, implementing solutions that align with strategic objectives.
  • Maintain advisory relationships with business partners, architects, and engineering teams to drive successful design and engineering outcomes.
  • Advocate for optimal solutions that meet the bank's technological needs through effective communication to support architectural decisions.
  • Support initiatives within the engineering and architecture community to mentor team members and share knowledge.
