Salary - £40,000 - £50,000

Cherry Professional is currently working with a market leading Structural Engineering company. As Senior Transportation Planner, you will play a crucial role in the planning, development, and optimization of transportation systems and networks. You will work closely with a team of experienced professionals to analyze data, assess transportation needs, and develop strategies to enhance transportation efficiency and sustainability.

  1. Helping to deliver a transportation planning work stream with a focus on supporting our portfolio of UK public and private sector clients and potentially our wider international work.
  2. Leading project teams.
  3. Ensuring quality delivery to industry and client standards and best practice guidelines and quality assurance procedures.
  4. Develop and implement strategic transportation plans that align with the company's objectives and client needs.
  5. Lead and manage complex transportation engineering projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.
  6. Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of transportation engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  7. Supporting our transportation planning leads on business development, proposal writing and interviews and presentations.
  8. Managing relationships with clients and other project stakeholders.
  9. Managing and mentoring junior team members including skills transfer and training.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Experience producing transportation notes, statements, and assessments, travel plans.
  2. Understanding of relevant local and national transportation policy and guidance.
  3. Competent user of junction capacity modeling software such as Junctions 10 and LinSig/Quickgreen, and other key industry software programs such as TRICS and TEMPro.
  4. Competent user of GIS software packages such as QGIS, ArcGIS, MapInfo, Basemap TRACC.
  5. Proficient in preliminary highway design through competent use of AutoCAD and application of relevant design guidance.
