Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in the maintenance and operation of various pumping systems, facilitating the transfer of water within treatment facilities and across the distribution network, including smaller chemical dosing pumps.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical failures swiftly to minimize service disruptions for our clients.
  • This role may require troubleshooting intricate mechanical issues and executing repairs during emergencies. Conduct routine maintenance on mechanical systems in accordance with organizational standards to enhance operational reliability.
  • Offer technical guidance to team members, utilizing current technical expertise, and provide mentorship or assistance to technical apprentices as necessary.
  • Participation in a 24/7 on-call standby schedule will be expected following adequate training and evaluation.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship with substantial experience in mechanical systems. An NVQ or C&G Level 3 in mechanical engineering, along with an upskilling qualification in mechanical NVQ2/3, is required.
  • Familiarity with large-scale industrial equipment, particularly various pumps within the utilities sector, is advantageous.
  • A solid understanding of health and safety regulations is essential.
  • A valid Full UK driving license is mandatory due to the nature of the position.
