Job Title: Teaching Assistant - SEN Support in Lancaster
Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Teaching Assistant to join our team in Lancaster. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial part in supporting the learning and development of children in the nursery. Your experience in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and working with SEN students is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting Children with SEN: You will work closely with the classroom teacher and other support staff to provide individualized support to children with Special Educational Needs.
- Developing Resources: You will utilize and develop 1:1 resources to support the learning and development of children.
- Liaising with Professionals: You will collaborate with professionals such as teachers, TAs, and specialist support staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.
- Classroom Support: You will provide support to classes, small groups, and individual children, helping them to stay motivated and engaged in their learning.
- Record Keeping: You will keep up-to-date records of the pupils' progress and contribute to their EHCP plans.
- Class Displays: You will prepare and develop class displays to showcase the children's work and achievements.
Requirements:
- Experience Working with SEN: You will have experience working 1:1 or in small groups with children who have Special Educational Needs.
- Previous Experience Working with Young People: You will have previous experience working with young people, ideally in a nursery or SEN setting.
- Confidence in Managing Challenging Behaviours: You will have confidence in managing challenging behaviours and be able to engage with and build rapport with young people.
- TA Qualification: You will hold a TA qualification (L2/3).
