About The Role

As a key member of our IT Service Management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the IT Change and Service Transition functions, ensuring seamless integration with IT Operations, Architects, Project Managers, and 3rd party service providers. Your primary focus will be on implementing ITIL4 best practices, managing the transition of major changes to existing services, and launching new services to avoid undesired consequences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and Implement Change Workflows: Develop and enforce policies and standards for Change workflows, ensuring alignment with ITIL4 best practices.
  • Assess and Mitigate Change Impacts and Risks: Evaluate the impact of changes on the business, taking informed decisions on behalf of the organization.
  • Develop Change Function Strategy: Define the strategy for the change function, ensuring it is aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage Third-Party Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with 3rd party service providers, ensuring accountability and effective communication.
  • Coordinate Audits and Mitigation: Oversee audit coordination and identify mitigation strategies to address any issues.
  • Escalation Point: Serve as an escalation point for Change requesters, approvers, and business stakeholders, providing timely and effective resolution.
  • Publish and Manage Change Schedules: Publish and manage a consolidated forward schedule of IT changes affecting the UK business, ensuring transparency and effective communication.
  • Lead Change Advisory Board Meetings: Oversee and facilitate the weekly Group Technical and Business Change Advisory Board meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Resolve Change Conflicts: Engage with senior managers to resolve change conflicts, ensuring a smooth transition of changes.
  • Govern Failed Changes: Govern failed changes and unauthorized changes, enforcing the completion of Post Implementation Reviews and following up on remediation actions.
  • Induction Training: Ensure new starters receive induction training on the Change Process, ensuring full adherence to policies and processes.
  • Drive Service Improvements: Oversee and drive service improvements within the change function, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Plan and Manage Service Transitions: Plan, manage, and coordinate the successful transition of IT services, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Quality Control: Ensure Quality Control (Service Readiness / Service Acceptance) is maintained throughout the service transition process.
  • Accountability for Service Transitions: Take accountability for the transition of new and/or changed services into BAU, ensuring seamless integration.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure all processes comply with internal security and technology standards.
  • Provide Direction and Oversight: Provide oversight and direction to cross-functional teams involved in the transition of services into production.
What You Need to Thrive
  • ITIL Foundation/Practitioner Qualifications: Possess ITIL Foundation and Practitioner qualifications, with a strong understanding of ITIL Service Transition.
  • IT Experience: Have at least 5 years of experience in IT Change Management, with a strong background in the insurance sector.
  • Technical Skills: Possess working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
