Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Speech and Language Therapist to become a vital member of the leadership team within the Speech and Language Therapy department. This role is integral to the provision of services for children and adolescents, ensuring high-quality care and support within the community.

Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Manage a diverse caseload independently while collaborating with colleagues to enhance service delivery.
  • Refine your expertise in the assessment and management of children and young individuals with Speech Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).
  • Engage in teamwork with both internal and external professionals to provide comprehensive care.
  • Support families and young clients in navigating clinical care challenges.
  • Serve as a clinical resource, offering guidance and second opinions to team members.
  • Oversee and mentor junior staff, conducting performance evaluations.
  • Contribute to the leadership team, spearheading service enhancements and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide strategic direction for therapists working in secondary educational settings and post-16 provisions.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Registered with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Extensive experience working with young individuals facing communication challenges.

Desirable:

  • Management training or experience.
  • Experience in facilitating transitions to adult services.
