London, Greater London, United Kingdom Flint Wines Ltd Full time

Position Overview

Flint Wines Ltd is recognized as one of the premier fine wine merchants in the UK, established by Jason Haynes and Sam Clarke in 2006. The company initially focused on Burgundy imports and has since expanded its portfolio to include producers from Italy and the US. Following the acquisition of Domaines Direct in 2020, Flint Wines now boasts direct relationships with renowned producers, enhancing its diverse offerings.

Role Context

In light of our significant growth over the past five years, with sales increasing by over 100%, we recognize the need to enhance our technological infrastructure. This role is pivotal in ensuring that Flint Wines harnesses technology effectively to maximize operational efficiency and business potential.

Key Responsibilities

The role encompasses five primary focus areas:

Systems Management: Collaborate with team members to ensure our systems facilitate optimal performance.

  • Lead the transition from Tvision's Navision to their cloud-based solution, Bevica.
  • Partner with the Finance Director to assess and upgrade our payment processing system.
  • Guarantee seamless integration of our systems, including the introduction of new tools and managing their connections.

Website Development: Work alongside external developers to create a website that reflects our brand and operational needs.

  • Ensure the web experience is exemplary for our diverse audiences: clients, producers, and internal teams.
  • Collaborate with sales and purchasing teams to refine our web offerings and develop a comprehensive project roadmap.

Data Management and Reporting: Ensure the integrity of our data and develop reporting mechanisms that align with our key performance indicators.

  • Client Data: Establish processes to synchronize marketing data with client preferences across all channels.
  • Work with department leaders to identify essential metrics and create dashboards for effective tracking.

Email Marketing:

  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to optimize email marketing strategies for enhanced client engagement.
  • Work with operational teams to set up automated notifications for routine processes, improving efficiency and customer satisfaction.

General IT Support: Liaise with our external IT support provider to ensure optimal software usage, hardware procurement, and adherence to best practices in cybersecurity and data management.

Required Experience

  • A minimum of ten years in a technology-focused role within a small to medium-sized enterprise, ideally in the wine and spirits sector.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics-based ERP systems or similar platforms.
  • A foundational understanding of fine wine and the broader industry landscape.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, hands-on environment with a collaborative spirit.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements.
  • Strong team player with empathy and a collaborative ethos.
  • Enjoys building solutions tailored to the needs of colleagues and the organization.
  • Methodical and detail-oriented, with excellent organizational skills.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary commensurate with experience.
  • Participation in a company-wide bonus program.
  • Company and individual pension contributions.
  • Team discounts on wine and storage services.
  • Monthly wine allowance.
  • Health and travel insurance.
  • Cycle-to-work scheme.
  • Enhanced parental leave policies.
  • Access to office benefits, including team lunches and refreshments.
