Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Overnight Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team. This role involves working from 10 PM to 6 AM, Sunday through Thursday, and offers a competitive salary along with a performance-based bonus opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, your primary duties will include:

  • Ensuring the operational efficiency of both fixed and mobile assets through effective maintenance strategies.
  • Conducting both planned and reactive maintenance to achieve a minimum of 95% asset availability.
  • Adhering to health and safety regulations during all maintenance activities and reporting any operational concerns.
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, including both scheduled and unscheduled tasks.
  • Preparing and submitting defect reports promptly to your line manager.
  • Coordinating preventive maintenance schedules and documentation for all equipment.
  • Managing relationships with external maintenance contractors and ensuring timely invoicing.
  • Overseeing spare parts inventory and sourcing alternatives as necessary.
  • Evaluating the performance of service subcontractors and equipment suppliers.
  • Staying updated on industry best practices and techniques.
  • Collaborating with apprentice engineers and assisting with their development.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in maintenance roles.
  • Hands-on experience with automated systems, including recycling and conveyor technologies.
  • Proficiency in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
  • Familiarity with planned preventative maintenance systems.
  • Relevant certifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH are advantageous.
