Hand Therapist Opportunity

An exciting chance to join our dynamic Hand Therapy Team at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust has arisen.

We are seeking a skilled Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist with a minimum of 2 years' experience in Hand Therapy to fill this role.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in:

  • Thermoplastic splinting
  • Assessment, treatment, and review of hands post-surgery and trauma
  • Management of Rheumatological conditions
  • Working autonomously
Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assessing and treating patients with Rheumatology and Orthopaedic hand conditions, including bespoke splinting
  • Developing and implementing hand therapy treatment programmes to provide the highest standard of care
  • Managing an ongoing complex patient caseload and prioritizing new referrals
  • Working independently in a variety of situations, including times of staff sickness or annual leave

As a member of our expanding and enthusiastic team, you will have the chance to:

  • Contribute to the day-to-day running of hand therapy outpatient services
  • Provide clinical supervision for junior staff and students on clinical practice placements
  • Participate in clinical audits, data collection, and comply with professional standards and Clinical Governance
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience of hand therapy
  • BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy qualification
