The Role:

The Index Research Group is responsible for reviewing and analyzing index data to support the portfolio management teams.

The Head of the Index Research Group will lead the team in setting up processes and procedures for index oversight, ensuring that index data is timely and accurate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily benchmark validation for all Equity and Fixed Income benchmarks
  • Monthly and Quarterly Pro-forma validation for all Equity and Fixed Income benchmarks
  • Daily publishing of index change projections for use by portfolio managers
  • Validation of High Risk benchmarks at each index rebalance
  • Liaise with index providers on all data issues and questions
  • Lead reviews of index provider Index Consultations
  • Respond to ESG Index Queries
  • Custom Index and New Product Research, including custom index backtesting
  • Monitor developments and new industry trends in indexing

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have:

  • An MBA/Master's degree with concentrations in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science or equivalent required, or Bachelor's degree with in-depth relevant experience
  • Expertise in Index Methodologies
  • Experience with relational databases, Python, R, SAS, SQL, Tableau, or version control software preferred
  • Experience using Aladdin preferred
