Role Overview:

As a key member of the Global Supply and Procurement legal team, you will deliver comprehensive legal guidance for Global Procurement initiatives and associated operational workflows. Your responsibilities will include:

● Providing legal counsel to the Global Procurement team on contractual matters and legal challenges, facilitating the negotiation of high-value contracts that span multiple markets.

● Developing and delivering tailored training sessions, legal resources, and templates to enhance the capabilities of both Global Procurement and regional legal teams.

● Offering legal support on diverse issues, including reputational risks, group litigation, and regulatory challenges pertinent to Global Procurement.

Leadership Responsibilities:

● Acting as the designated legal support for specific project teams, ensuring accountability for particular procurement stakeholders.

● Collaborating with fellow members of the legal team to engage with regional legal teams, fostering capability development and embedding best practices in Procurement and related legal matters.

Key Objectives:

● Facilitate the successful execution of Global Procurement projects and contracts.

● Focus on enhancing the skills of regional lawyers and Global Procurement colleagues to effectively manage risks and minimize reliance on senior legal input.

Primary Responsibilities:

● Delivering solutions and insights grounded in a broad client perspective.

● Ensuring that legal and reputational risks are effectively managed within the Global Procurement function.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

1. Essential Qualifications & Experience:

● Qualified lawyer with admission to practice in England & Wales, Scotland, Ireland, or a Commonwealth jurisdiction, possessing extensive in-house commercial experience (minimum of 5 years' PQE).

2. Key Functional and Leadership Capabilities:

● Demonstrating a high level of professionalism and integrity, alongside strong analytical and contract negotiation skills.

● Adopting a commercially pragmatic approach, with the ability to articulate legal concepts clearly and practically.

● Managing external legal resources effectively, ensuring optimal staffing for internal and external legal work.

● Developing practical tools and delivering effective training within the Global Procurement and regional legal teams.

● Exhibiting strong project management skills and proficiency in both verbal and written communication.

● Understanding compliance risks, intellectual property, antitrust, and data privacy laws, with the ability to engage specialists when necessary.

● Identifying and assessing legal, reputational, operational, and strategic risks, facilitating effective risk mitigation strategies.

● Employing a solution-oriented mindset to generate innovative legal solutions.

● Building robust relationships with stakeholders, ensuring consistent consultation and collaboration.
