Job Overview

Job Title: Principal Engineer - Product Safety Engineering

Location: Various locations across the UK, with flexible working arrangements available.

Salary: Circa £55,000.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer to join our Product Safety Team, working on highly complex systems within the Submarine programme. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the governance of safety analysis and assessment activities, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of safety analysis and assessment processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety considerations are integrated into product design and development.
  • Provide expert guidance on safety-related matters, including risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Develop and maintain safety-related documentation, including procedures and reports.
  • Contribute to the development of safety policies and standards.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in Industrial Controls Systems and Functional Safety.
  • Strong knowledge of IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
