Job Title: Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology

We are seeking an experienced Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to join our team at Walsall Manor Hospital. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in benign gynaecology and be able to cover all obstetrics and gynaecological emergencies in an on-call role.

About the Role

The post holder will be responsible for providing leadership, support, and training for medical and midwifery staff on labour ward. They will also be expected to initiate and participate in research and audit programmes in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and support to medical and midwifery staff on labour ward
  • Initiate and participate in research and audit programmes
  • Develop and implement clinical guidelines and policies
  • Provide teaching and training to junior staff
  • Contribute to the development of the department's strategic plan
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

Full GMC registration with licence to practiceMRCOG or appropriate specialist qualificationRelevant CCT or equivalentEntry onto GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the Advisory Appointments CommitteeWhat We Offer
