Mechanical Commissioning Specialist

The role of the Mechanical Commissioning Engineer involves overseeing and executing essential commissioning activities within the nuclear sector. This position is critical for ensuring that all mechanical systems are tested and validated in accordance with safety and operational standards.
Location: Seascale, Cumbria
Rate: £47.61 per hour Umbrella inside IR35
Contract Duration: 12 Month contract, Monday to Friday
- Implement and manage processes for controlling, witnessing, recording, and evaluating commissioning tests that have safety implications.
- Deliver the commissioning scope effectively, adhering to the established strategy and timelines while maintaining cost efficiency.
- Adopt a proactive approach to safety, encompassing nuclear, radiological, conventional, and environmental considerations during commissioning activities.
- Monitor commissioning progress and performance, initiating corrective measures as required.
- Facilitate daily communication with team members to secure necessary permissions and reduce project disruptions.
- Analyze and review commissioning test outcomes.
- Ensure seamless integration of contributions from various project processes, including design, HAZOP, risk management, and contract management.
- Proven experience in commissioning mechanical systems within the nuclear industry.
- Minimum educational requirement: HNC/HND in an Engineering-related discipline or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in nuclear commissioning activities.
- Familiarity with project management principles; APM membership is advantageous.
- Competence in performing calculations using Excel.
- Capability to obtain BPSS and P4 Pass is essential for continued employment in this role.
- Skilled in utilizing the latest versions of Microsoft Office applications.
