About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at the Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing communication difficulties in children in health centers, preschool settings, and schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and diagnose communication difficulties in children
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to inform and support patient care
  • Provide written advice to contribute to the assessment and review process for children with special educational needs
  • Contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans for specific children
  • Offer second opinions and provide general clinical support
  • Support and train undergraduate Speech and Language Therapy students
Requirements
  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Experience of working with children with complex developmental profiles and alternative and augmentative communication systems
  • Experience of assessment, diagnosis, and writing of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Experience of working with education or other external partners
