Primary Duties

1. Core Responsibilities:

Perform specialized evaluations, provide recommendations, and deliver treatment for clients.

Apply specialized knowledge to make sound clinical judgments.

Implement appropriate interventions and assess their outcomes.

Demonstrate clinical effectiveness through evidence-based practices.

Adapt practices to meet the unique needs of patients and respect cultural differences.

Be accountable for professional actions and understand personal boundaries.

Adhere to departmental and national protocols as well as the professional code of conduct.

Reflect on patient communication and devise strategies to enhance effectiveness.

Provide professional advice within the clinical domain.

2. Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Responsibilities:

Participate in MDT meetings and assist in goal-setting.

Manage a caseload of patients and contribute to treatment planning.

Fulfill key worker responsibilities.

Gather accurate statistical data and document therapy sessions.

3. Service Development Duties:

Utilize rehabilitation and educational skills to instruct the community in therapeutic methods.

Collaborate with others to develop outcome measures for high-quality service delivery.

Monitor and enhance quality standards for Speech Therapy.

Identify opportunities for service innovation and enhancement.

4. Education and Research Responsibilities:

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Recognized degree in Speech Therapy.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Experience at the master's level.
  • Registered member of RCSLT.
  • Membership in relevant Clinical Interest Groups.

Experience

Essential:

  • A minimum of 6 years of post-registration experience.
  • Proven experience in managing complex cases and manual handling.
  • Participation in CPD with specialized courses.
  • Experience in assessments, risk management, and training.
  • Experience working within integrated health and social care teams.
