Role: Co-Chair of the NCS Trust Youth Voice Advisory Board and Adviser to the Royal Charter body Board (RCbB)
Job Type: Fixed-term contract due to begin in September 2024 until October 2025
Salary: £28,075.00 per annum
Location: Remote role, based nationally with expected travel to London and other locations
Hours: Equivalent of 1.5 days working days/week minimum, with flexibility for studies and other work
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as Co-Chair of the NCS Trust Youth Voice Advisory Board. As Co-Chair, you will play a key role in shaping the Youth Voice Strategic approach of the NCS Trust and ensuring that the voice of young people is represented and amplified within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Co-Chair and coordinate engagement with the Youth Voice Advisory Board
- Shape the Youth Voice Strategic approach of the NCS Trust
- Sit on the RCb Board as a Youth Advisor, ensuring NCS embeds youth voice within all strategic decision-making
- Champion the voice of young people within NCS Trust
- Lead and shape the delivery of youth perspective to the RCb Board
- Prepare for RCb Board meetings and attend strategic RCb Board away days and meetings
- Chair YAB meetings in an inclusive and empowering manner
- Visit NCS programmes to understand NCS's impact and where it can improve
- Bring recommendations and feedback to the Senior Leadership Team and RCb Board
- Advocate for meaningful youth voice practice across the Trust
Requirements
- NCS experience
- Ability to reflect and draw upon experiences of their own and others
- Understanding of and thoughts about youth, education, and social policy in the UK
- Experience participating in youth engagement activities
