Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workshop Manager to join our client's team in Biggleswade. As a key member of the operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the earthmoving workshop departments, including the welding bay and mobile welders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational management of the earthmoving workshop departments, including the welding bay and mobile welders.
  • Ensure the highest quality of repair work, pre-delivery inspections, and modifications to equipment.
  • Meet annual revenue targets for repair work.
  • Deliver Earth Moving Technical After Sales profitability by regular review of profit and loss, identifying areas of improvement.
  • Liaise with customers (internal and external) during and following repairs to achieve high customer satisfaction.
  • Manage the general housekeeping of the workshop areas.
  • Set individual objectives and targets within the appraisal system for direct reports.
  • Provide technical advice and support for the workshop departments.
  • Hold regular meetings with workshop department team leaders and supervisors to discuss operational matters.
  • Assist with the running and improvement of the apprenticeship scheme.
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 3 in a related industry.
  • Workshop Manager experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a pressurized environment.
