As a Food Service Support Specialist at Taskmaster, you will play a vital role in assisting the Retail Services Supervisor/Manager in the preparation of wholesome and appealing meals and snacks for our staff and visitors. Your contributions will ensure that all meals are prepared according to the planned menu, utilizing specified recipes and methods that adhere to the highest standards of nutrition, temperature, quality, presentation, hygiene, safety, and allergen regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Meal Preparation: Participate in the preparation of all retail and buffet items, strictly following standard recipes and production planning.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of food quality from purchasing through to meal preparation, cooking, and service, implementing quality control processes throughout.
- Cash Handling: Operate electronic tills and manage cash transactions accurately.
- Coffee Shop Operations: Work within the coffee shop outlet after receiving comprehensive training on barista-style machines.
- Temperature Monitoring: Assist in monitoring and recording the temperatures of all prepared meals and food storage equipment, in compliance with Catering Department Policies and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).
- Stock Management: Aid in the receipt, quality assurance, and stock control of goods received into retail stores, ensuring proper storage and security while adhering to stock rotation practices.
- Hygiene Compliance: Assist in conducting Hygiene Audits and ensuring that cleaning schedules for your work area are completed weekly, collaborating with the Retail Supervisor for any necessary remedial actions.
- Cleaning Duties: Support the general cleaning of crockery and kitchen utensils, utilizing both dishwashing machines and manual methods as needed.
- Personal Hygiene: Uphold a high standard of personal hygiene at all times.
- Team Collaboration: Work cooperatively with other members of the Catering Team to maintain and enhance the current high standards of food service for staff and visitors.
- Customer Service: Interact effectively and courteously with colleagues, patients, staff, and the public, addressing customer complaints and concerns with a high level of service and escalating issues to your supervisor as necessary.
