Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to provide support for the production of satellites and payloads. The successful candidate will be involved in writing processes, plans, and procedures in 3D Experience, as well as supporting hardware assembly and environmental testing.

Responsibilities

Project Preparation Phase:

  • Support the customization phase from project kick-off.
  • Participate in DMU sessions to ensure design for manufacture.
  • Lead the installation of satellite appendages and integration flows.

Project Operational Phase:

  • Support the AIT Lead Engineering team during periods of high workload.
  • Handle and install thermal hardware.
  • Integrate electronic units, subsystems, and instruments.
  • Prepare and conduct environmental tests.
  • Oversee unit installation activities.
  • Support quality reviews and conduct PFMEA and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Develop re-work instructions and identify required parts and tooling.

Non-Project:

  • Design tooling and build aids for assembly execution.
  • Create and maintain training modules.
  • Develop new processes, improve existing ones, and monitor implementation.

Skill Set:

  • Minimum HNC level in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of satellite integration processes and project phases.
  • Experience with satellite appendage installation.
  • Strong mechanical skills and knowledge of complex systems.
  • Lean manufacturing techniques and documentation skills.
  • High self-motivation and ability to handle changing priorities.
