Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to join our clinical team. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care, working closely with our healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct weight, height, and blood pressure checks
  • Perform testing and handling of clinical specimens, including urine dipstick testing
  • Assist with NHS health checks and health promotion initiatives
  • Support minor surgical procedures and dressings
  • Act as a chaperone during patient consultations
  • Conduct new patient checks and diabetic foot checks
  • Perform ECGs and vascular QOF reviews
  • Administer flu, pneumonia, B12, and Shingles injections
  • Ensure adequate infection control procedures in treatment and consulting rooms
  • Participate in phlebotomy and vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring, and recording
  • Support suture removal and participate in practice audit as directed by management

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care
  • Phlebotomy certification
  • GCSE Maths and English grade D or above
  • Good standard of general education

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience working in a Primary Care environment
