Our client, a prestigious real estate firm, specializes in the ownership and management of various commercial properties throughout the UK, providing top-tier engineering and facilities management services. They are currently seeking an M&E Operations Manager to oversee a multi-site commercial property in the City of London, which includes office, retail, residential, and event spaces.

This position will report directly to the Senior Engineering Manager and will be part of a collaborative team of Engineering Managers responsible for hard services and facilities management, working closely with the property services team. The role involves managing the facilities management service provider and specialized subcontractors, taking charge of hard services engineering, and implementing energy monitoring and efficiency initiatives.

The campus is dynamic, featuring a blend of existing commercial and residential buildings, along with future construction phases, creating a vibrant and challenging work environment with opportunities for increased responsibility.

Key Qualifications:

Candidates must possess a full qualification in either electrical or mechanical engineering, ideally obtained through a comprehensive apprenticeship, along with a minimum of five years of experience in managing within the commercial M&E maintenance sector. Strong M&E Supervisors with the potential to advance will also be considered. In addition to core M&E qualifications, further training such as HV Authorisation, IOSH/NEBOSH, and ILM Training will be advantageous.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitor KPIs and Contractor SLAs for building subcontractors
  • Conduct regular meetings with tenants and the facilities management service provider
  • Implement energy efficiency measures, including metering, BMS, and solar initiatives
  • Provide oversight and technical support for electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems
  • Report to the Head of Engineering and FM/Property Director
