Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Structural Engineer to join our team in Exeter. The successful candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering and a passion for sustainable design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise closely with architects and co-professionals at project inception to establish project briefs
  • Take a lead role in managing WSP multi-disciplinary projects
  • Support and mentor structural team members and participate in design, design reviews, and staff development reviews
  • Coordinate with mechanical & electrical engineers, geotechnical engineers, civil engineers, landscape architects, and other specialists
  • Carry out embodied carbon assessments to inform decision-making at all stages of projects
  • Utilize digital tools to improve design and delivery of projects
  • Enthusiasm for sustainable design and digital delivery
  • A track record in the supervision of designs produced by junior colleagues
  • Experience in design of a variety of building types and scales
  • Direct experience of delivering efficiently in a BIM environment
  • Significant experience and capability in financially and programme managing projects using appropriate business tools
