About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at a UK-wide SEN Trust. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will be working with students who have Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct speech and language assessments and interventions for students with ASC and SEMH needs.
  • Develop and implement individual communication programs for students, including writing SMART targets and assessing progress.
  • Lead and deliver training to the education team on social communication and language development.
  • Conduct whole-school classroom language audits and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Monitor and review outcomes for communication aims and modify programs as required.
  • Attend and contribute to annual reviews, providing clear and concise written reports.
Requirements
  • Registered member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Professional Speech and Language Therapy degree or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of a range of therapy interventions in learning disability and behavior support.
  • Knowledge of the impact of trauma and adverse early childhood experiences on communication.
  • Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Conditions and experience working with children or young people with ASC.
  • At least two years' post-graduate experience working as a Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist.
