About the Role

As a pivotal member of our engineering team, the Control Systems Engineer will contribute significantly to the operational excellence of British Sugar PLC. This role is essential in ensuring that our manufacturing processes are efficient, reliable, and aligned with our sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Control System Implementation: Lead the execution of control system projects, focusing on both Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Operational Support: Provide ongoing support to process operations, enhancing performance through effective use of control technologies.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with operational teams to identify and implement process enhancements, ensuring optimal control strategies are in place.
  • Technical Specifications: Develop and manage hardware and software specifications, ensuring they meet industry standards and operational needs.
  • Installation and Commissioning: Oversee the installation and commissioning of new control systems, ensuring compliance with British Sugar and national standards.
  • Contractor Management: Supervise contractors involved in the installation of control systems and associated infrastructure.
  • Change Management: Manage changes through established processes, ensuring thorough documentation and compliance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with operational staff to create and modify control strategies, maintaining a clear audit trail of all changes.
Qualifications
