Electronics Design Engineer

Leonardo is seeking an Electronics Design Engineer to join our Communications and Force Protection Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting our Electronic Counter Measures (ECM) programmes, undertaking various activities such as electronic design analysis, circuit simulation, and prototyping.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support new designs by undertaking electronic design analysis, circuit simulation, and prototyping
  • Support electronic schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Design and/or specify power supply and interface card
  • Test and debug electronic circuits
  • Develop subsystem engineering solutions and specifications
  • Define electronic COTS products such as Open VPX cards and power supplies
  • Cabling and connector specifications
  • Integration and Verification of System and Sub-Systems
  • Support to Qualification (including EMC)
  • Production and Delivery support
Requirements:
  • Knowledge and experience of all stages of the engineering development lifecycle
  • Experience of digital and analogue electronic design knowledge
  • Board level PCB design (ideally using Siemens EDA Xpedition Enterprise)
  • Operating at the product system level
  • Specifying and defining COTS items
  • Working with subcontract suppliers
  • Specifying cable and connector solutions
  • System level integration
  • Ability to make technical decisions within own sphere of responsibility
  • Willingness to work proactively within a fast-moving and dynamic environment
