We are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Valve Design and Development Engineer to join our team at Expert Employment. Our client is a leading supplier of chemical propulsion systems (rocket engines and thrusters) to spacecraft manufacturers. As a Mechanical Valve Design and Development Engineer, you will be working on the design, development, and testing of fluidic control solutions for space propulsion.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and develop fluid system components such as electro-mechanical valves and mechanisms.
  2. Participate in customer programmes as the development engineer.
  3. Generate technical documentation in line with company and customer Quality standards.
  4. Create design and compliance documents using CAD, finite element, data acquisition packages, Pro Engineer, Ansys, LabView.
Requirements
  1. Space industry experience is highly desirable but not essential.
  2. A 2:1 or higher Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering is required.
  3. CAD experience generating 3D models, ideally detail drafting for manufacture with PTC Creo.
  4. Structural analysis using FE software, static and dynamic analysis justifying designs for launch vibration and fluid pressure tolerance.
  5. Exposure to the design, manufacture, and test of aerospace or space products.
  6. Test rig design, instrumentation, and data acquisition for fluid systems ideally with LabView experience.
  7. Valve, mechanism, or propulsion designs.
  8. Clean room practices and equipment.
