Job Summary

The Michigan School Public Relations Association is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Paraprofessional, Heartwood School. As a key member of our team, you will assist teachers in district classrooms for the cognitively impaired and/or physically impaired by performing a variety of duties designed to carry out individual student education programs and positive behavioral support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily classroom routines and facilitate students' participation in all activities, including but not limited to: self-care, mobility, ambulation, defined health procedures, and swimming.
  • Implement classroom and/or individual student behavior intervention strategies under the direction of classroom teachers.
  • Operate various lifts, instructional or adaptive equipment, and assistive technology devices.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other staff members. You will also need to be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
