Civil Designer Opportunity

NES Fircroft Ltd is working with a leading engineering design house in the UK who are seeking a skilled Civil Designer to join their team on a contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects and contribute to the production of high-quality technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce layouts, general arrangements, and details, as well as 3D models using AutoCAD and other software.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Interpret vendor and other discipline drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Supervise draughtspersons and check drawings prepared by others to maintain high professional standards.
  • Work to tight deadlines and budgets while maintaining a professional and responsible attitude.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Equivalent to a UK Higher National Certificate in Civil Engineering as a minimum.
  • AutoCAD Certificate of Competence (Advanced Level preferred) or demonstrable experience and qualifications.
  • Background in Heavy Engineering/Chemical/Petrochemical Industries preferred, with experience in reinforced concrete foundations, sub-structures, aqueous retaining structures, superstructures, and general infrastructure works.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

  • English Language – written, spoken, and technical.
  • Ability to convert calculations or technical communications into engineering drawings.
  • Ability to read drawings from other engineering disciplines.
  • Awareness of and compliance with Company Quality Management System procedures and requirements.
  • Ability to liaise and coordinate work with other engineering disciplines.

Key Software Knowledge:

  • IT literate.
  • Efficient use of AutoCAD and all its attributes, as well as Tekla.
  • Use of CADS RC reinforcement preferred but not essential.
  • Use of REVIT & PDMS for modeling and drawing production preferred but not essential.
