Lymphoedema Specialist

The successful candidate will provide high-quality care and psychological support to patients and their families with secondary lymphoedema who have undergone treatment for cancer at the Dorset Cancer Centre.
The ideal candidate will promote high standards of evidence-based care following policies and protocols and act as a point of contact for patients and carers.
Key Requirements- Previous experience in lymphoedema care, oncology, or palliative care, with a willingness to work towards training within the Lymphoedema specialty.
- NMC registration and a BSc degree in nursing or a relevant professional body qualification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Essential qualifications: NMC Registered Nurse [RMN/RGN] or other relevant professional bodies, recognised teaching qualification or experience in teaching.
- Desirable qualifications: 1st level degree or working towards, communication/counselling course, specialist course in relevant specialty, advanced communication skills training, psychological assessment training.
- Essential experience: demonstrable lymphoedema/oncology/palliative care/tissue viability experience, managing a specified patient caseload, minimum 3 years post-reg experience, working autonomously.
- Desirable experience: post-reg qualification in specialist field/oncology/palliative care/tissue viability, recognised lymphoedema training, willingness to undertake appropriate clinical training in management of lymphoedema including manual lymphatic drainage.
- Essential technical skills: IT literacy using a range of current and relevant packages, teaching and presentation skills, extended role skills as appropriate, able to integrate into multidisciplinary team influencing and negotiating skills.
- Essential knowledge: demonstrable lymphoedema/Oncology/symptom control knowledge, conversant with developments in Oncology at national and local levels.
