About the OpportunityThis initiative represents the second phase of a funding opportunity aimed at establishing extensive, multidisciplinary research hubs that focus on manufacturing, environmental sustainability, and achieving net-zero emissions.
Eligible applicants must be affiliated with a UK research organization that qualifies for funding from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).
Projects should tackle significant, long-term challenges that the manufacturing sector faces today.
Up to three projects will receive funding, with the full economic cost of each project capped at £13,750,000. The EPSRC will cover 80% of the total economic cost.
Eligibility CriteriaTo submit a full proposal, applicants must have received an invitation from EPSRC following a successful outline application.

International CollaborationAs EPSRC is a principal funder for this opportunity, a project co-lead from an international institution, such as one based in Norway, is permissible.
