About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team at NP Aerospace, a global leader in armour technology manufacturing and vehicle integration. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic and tactical management of projects, ensuring delivery on time, to the right quality standards, and to agreed project budgets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects across the Composite and Armour Systems business, including the management of resources, engineering requirements, and technical direction.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define and coordinate project requirements, including work breakdown structures and engineering change requests.
  • Provide technical direction to ensure system design meets customer specifications and quality or regulatory requirements.
  • Manage a full product life cycle from bids and project initiation through development and verification, into full-rate production.
  • Support the team with problem-solving of design and product issues to resolve functional issues throughout the development and service lifecycle.
  • Interact with Production and Quality teams to investigate and obtain corrective action data.
  • Ensure all workstream leads understand requirements and timing plans.
  • Provide robust management information reporting on progress both internally and externally.
  • Develop close, long-term productive and conducive customer relationships.
  • Maintain a clear, comprehensive understanding of risks and opportunities for all allocated projects and necessary actions to follow up.
  • Collaborate with the bid management team on bid preparation activities as required.
  • Own the financial budget, with support from the project accountant community, and forecast future risks and opportunities.
Requirements
  • Educated to degree level or relevant work-based experience.
  • A high level of technical proficiency underpinned by formal technical/engineering qualifications.
  • Experienced Project Management professional with strong leadership skills and a demonstrable track record in successful project setup, execution, and delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills and commercial awareness.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft packages, including MS Project.
  • A self-starter who can work independently and effectively under minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge and experience in the effective use of Project Management tools and techniques.
  • Ability to quickly identify the critical path and mitigate risks as they are identified.
  • Ability to create effective working relationships within a challenging environment and lead multi-functional teams.
  • Ability to communicate and report at all levels within the business.
  • Strong negotiation skills with customers, management, peers, and subordinates.
