Please be aware that this position operates during the night, with start times scheduled at either 17:30 or 20:00 to align with our operational and rail timelines.

Main Responsibilities:
The successful candidate for the Night Rail Operations Specialist role will undertake a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Conducting inspections of rail, rail tracks, and associated machinery
  • Playing a key role in all rail movements and operational activities
  • Identifying and taking ownership of opportunities for process enhancements, contributing to the overall improvement of the business
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate for the Night Rail Operations Specialist position will possess or be willing to pursue training in:

  • NVQ/QCF level 2 in rail operations or an equivalent qualification, which is advantageous; however, training will be provided to the successful candidate if necessary
  • A background in rail operations, particularly in shunting or driving, is preferred
  • Proficiency in computer usage
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment is beneficial, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and suppliers
