Job Overview:

This role may suit an individual who is a specialist in:

  1. Data encryption - Symmetric key cryptography with large, high entropy keys
  2. High-speed Quantum Random Number Generators
  3. Key exchange and digital signatures - Quantum Resistant Algorithms (QRA)
  4. NIST SP evaluating implementations for 2023 and beyond
  5. Crypto-agile Key Management - Enabler for transition
  6. Flexible deployment of crypto algorithms - classical, QRA and hybrid
  7. Key distribution - Quantum Key Distribution (QKD)
  8. Uses laws of physics to secure key distribution over an optical quantum channel
  9. Space-based relay of quantum keys critical to establishing global QKD networks.
Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Advising the board on comprehensive assessment on how data is stored across the Gentrian organization.
  2. Implementing user identity and authorization management.
  3. Identifying the most critical or valuable digital assets/capabilities, understanding vulnerability to quantum attack, and assessing potential repercussions of such attacks.
  4. Conducting pilot programs integrating quantum capabilities into IT security infrastructure and applications.
  5. Developing quantum-safe transition roadmap for priority military systems and assets.
  6. Implementing roadmap and deploying and operating hybrid infrastructure integrating quantum-safe crypto-agile products.
  7. Establishing/fast tracking processes for advanced/quantum-enabled technologies to achieve certifications necessary for procurement and deployment.
  8. Increasing quantum tech literacy by upskilling workforce, e.g., implementing a quantum safe technology as an additional layer of security to our existing ones.
  9. Amplifying the security protection on harvest now and decrypt later attacks.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  1. 20+ years of deep expertise in quantum computing and quantum risk.
  2. Executive level experience in computer science.
  3. Academic level training in computer science.
  4. Hands-on experience in computer science.
  5. Proven experience in defending against cyber attacks across departmental networks, e.g., Department of Defense on first cyber command, and the joint task force for computer network defense.
  6. Executive level experience in implementing solutions in defense intelligence agencies.
  7. Executive level experience in harvest now and decrypt later attacks.
