About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Consultant in Elderly Medicine to join our team at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. As a key member of our Elderly Medicine Department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients, particularly those with complex and frailty needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead ward rounds and attend dedicated MDT meetings to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Provide specialist opinion and expertise to patients, families, and carers.
  • Participate in outpatient or virtual clinics, home visits, and teaching and training activities.
  • Contribute to regular audit, data collection, and quality improvement work to enhance patient care.
  • Maintain an overview of all ward patients and actively participate in discharges.
  • Support and supervise junior doctors on the ward.
  • Liaise with Same Day Emergency Care ANPs as needed.
  • Contribute to electronic and verbal handovers of patients.

Person Specification

We are looking for a Consultant in Elderly Medicine with:

Recognised medical qualifications and GMC registration.Experience in geriatric medicine or a related field.Strong leadership and communication skills.A commitment to patient-centered care and quality improvement.How to Apply
