We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Senior Director, Acquisitions to lead our acquisition activities in EMEA / APAC with a global remit. The Global Acquisitions team is a high-impact group responsible for the origination, evaluation, negotiation, and execution of strategic business combinations that align with our growth priorities.
As a key member of our leadership team, you will work closely with our executives, regional leadership, and investors to drive our acquisition strategy and deliver value to our stakeholders. Your expertise will be instrumental in identifying key growth areas and acquisition targets, refining our M&A strategy, and managing our short and longer-term M&A pipeline.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with Senior Management, Regional leadership, and Global Services to identify key growth areas and acquisition targets.
- M&A Strategy: Help refine and evolve our M&A strategy and criteria based on our strategic priorities and the market landscape.
- Pipeline Management: Manage, develop, and expand our short and longer-term M&A pipeline.
- Relationship Building: Build and maintain relationships with targets' shareholders, management teams, and the broader advisory community.
- Acquisition Process: Lead or facilitate the outreach to Targets to explore the strategic and cultural fit of the organization, as well as assess the appetite for a potential combination with us.
- Transaction Execution: Take the lead in acquisition processes (origination, negotiation, due diligence, transaction documentation, structuring, and integration planning) delivering optimum outcomes.
- Business Case Development: Develop and present business cases to Senior Management, Board, Investment Committee, and Investors.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance existing processes and approaches.
- Experience: Significant experience managing the day-to-day execution of M&A transactions, ideally including some gained within a corporate setting.
- Sector Experience: Experience in the relevant sector is an advantage.
- Years of Experience: 8-12 years of relevant experience, ideally including some gained within a corporate setting.
- Qualifications: Previous experience in one or more of Corporate Development / Acquisitions, Investment Banking, or, alternatively, a qualified accountant, if supplemented by other M&A experience.
- Negotiation Skills: Demonstrable experience of negotiating transaction terms, structures, documentation, and mechanics.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to build and articulate strategy within or for a complex global organization.
- Presentation Skills: Good presentation skills; able to present with credibility to many levels – Board, Executive, management, engineering.
- Financial Analysis: Strong valuation, quantitative, and financial analysis skills including interpretation of financial statements and translation into meaningful trends and assessments.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders in a credible fashion with evidence of ability to build networks in a global organization.
- Adaptability: Able to work effectively in an environment with a high degree of ambiguity, capable of exploring new markets quickly with little oversight.
