About the Role

We are seeking a talented Research Writer to join our Insight team at Chambers and Partners. As a Research Writer, you will play a pivotal role in transforming commentary compiled by our research teams into valuable insights for law firms.

The success of our Insight team is integral to the overall success of our business, and we are continuously looking for qualified individuals to contribute to this success.

As a Research Writer, you will be responsible for using the research database to find relevant raw commentary, tidying interview comments for sense and clarity, and rendering comments anonymous by removing any information that could reveal the identity of the speaker.

You will also be responsible for coming to appropriate conclusions regarding how the final ranking decisions were arrived at, incorporating research notes left by the research team, and writing compelling copy that is clear, concise and easily understood by a layperson.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the research database to extract relevant raw commentary
  • Refine interview comments for clarity and coherence
  • Ensure anonymity of comments by removing identifying information
  • Draw informed conclusions regarding ranking decisions
  • Compose clear and concise copy for lay audiences
  • Summarize findings in a concise executive summary
  • Develop market analysis and write about competitor trends in CMI reports
  • Translate interviews using appropriate software
  • Maintain high accuracy in reports by verifying factual information

Person Specification:

  • Excellent writing skills with ability to write clearly and concisely
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to draw broad conclusions from raw data and research notes
  • Capacity to follow house style closely
  • Intellectually curious
