About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join our team, responsible for coordinating and approving construction drawings and information to ensure they meet our budgets and clients' requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Liaising with the Land & Planning Manager at key stages of the Planning submissions.
  2. Identifying, appointing, and managing external design teams to meet project briefs and ensure design programs are achieved.
  3. Appointing and coordinating relevant testing and reports to assist in design completion and planning.
  4. Providing knowledge and experience in production of CSHSP.
  5. Liaising with stakeholders to ensure all information is provided at required stages.
  6. Organizing, participating, and recording design review meetings.
  7. Liaising with the Commercial Team to ensure designs are within project budgets.
  8. Coordinating Planning submissions and discharging conditions.
  9. Reviewing and managing the flow of information to ensure technical details are incorporated into design.
  10. Researching and exploring different design options to improve build quality and value engineering.
  11. Reviewing design and construction information to ensure compliance with client requirements.
  12. Managing and coordinating Section Agreements process.
  13. Understanding duties for Client, Principal Designer, and Designers under CDM regulations and building regulations.
  14. Adhering to Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements, procedures, and policies.
  15. Liaising with the Construction Team at handover of schemes from pre-construction to onsite and ensuring relevant information is distributed.
About You:

We are looking for a candidate with:

  1. Relevant construction or architectural qualification.
  2. Previous experience in an equivalent or similar role within the construction industry.
  3. Good knowledge of the design process and construction design stages with a main contractor.
  4. Technical knowledge and ability to use design and project management software.

You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to build design team rapport, negotiate, motivate, and analyze.
