Position Overview

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Psychiatric Consultant for a full-time, permanent role within a private mental health facility. This position involves working on a newly established ward specifically designed for female patients requiring medium secure care.

Role Details

The Senior Psychiatric Consultant role can be structured over 4 or 5 days per week, with the following arrangements:

  • 4 days per week with a patient load of 12, offering a competitive salary of £120,000 annually.
  • 5 days per week with a patient load of 16, providing a salary of £160,000 annually.

The core working hours are set between 10am and 4pm, allowing for flexible start and finish times, such as 8am-5pm or 9am-6pm, depending on the chosen work schedule.

Services Offered

The facility provides a comprehensive range of specialized services, including treatment for mental health disorders, neurodevelopmental conditions, learning disabilities, and female medium secure care. We are looking for a Senior Psychiatric Consultant with a background in treating female patients with mental health needs and/or personality disorders. You will receive full support from a dedicated team of non-medical prescribers and residential doctors.

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must:

  • Hold GMC registration and possess an MBBS (or equivalent) qualification
  • Be registered on the specialist register (CCT/CESR) in Forensic Psychiatry, Learning Disability, or General Psychiatry
  • Have experience in working with female patients in a secure care environment
