Electrical Design Engineer Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Melbreck Technical Recruitment Ltd. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will work closely with our Mechanical Design, Project, and Software teams to provide control panel layouts, schematic drawings, and component specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams using Eplan Pro Panel.
  • Specify and source components, consumables, and hardware to meet project requirements and cost targets.
  • Collaborate with the Software department to select PLC/HMI systems.
  • Support the Spares/Service department with part sourcing and technical queries.
  • Work to customer-provided specifications and relevant legislation/standards.
  • Ensure product safety and compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Advise on technical matters and provide technical support and advice on product quality, test, inspection, and application.
  • Conduct technical design calculations and provide reports as required.
  • Work with the Mechanical Design department to package control systems within machine envelopes.
  • Research obsolete component replacement for existing machines.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in electrical wiring and mechanical design.
  • Previous experience with E-plan Pro Panel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Qualification to HNC/HND standard or above in an electrical engineering-related subject.
  • Ability to manage a dynamic workload and work effectively in a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
