Data Centre Security Officer Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and technology-savvy Security Officer to ensure the security and safety of our Data Centre premises and people in the Slough and Uxbridge area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage access control for buildings and car-parks, ensuring secure entry and exit for employees, visitors, and contractors.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the premises, car parks, and grounds to deter and detect potential security threats.
  • Verify and challenge ID passes with a professional and friendly approach, maintaining a secure environment.
  • Activate and deactivate alarms, unlock and lock buildings, rooms, external barriers, and gates to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Monitor fire, security, and building systems, including CCTV, to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Identify and report Health & Safety issues, providing first aid when necessary.
  • Respond to customer requests and queries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, using computer- and paper-based systems.
Requirements:
  • SIA Door Supervision (DS) or Security Guarding (SG) license is essential.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure is essential.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role, ideally in security, is necessary.
  • A minimum of five years' checkable history and references are required.
  • A criminal records check (CRC) to the required standards must be passed.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • SIA Public Space Surveillance (PSS) (CCTV) license.
  • First Aid qualification.
  • Experience in a similar role.
