FleetPride Road Service Technician Job Description

FleetPride is the largest after-market distributor of heavy-duty truck and trailer parts in the U.S. with some of the best and brightest people in the business. We're looking for a skilled Road Service Technician to join our team.

Job Summary

The Road Service Technician is responsible for performing basic and advanced adjustments, repairs, and component replacements on trucks and trailers with limited supervision. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine vehicles to determine the extent of damage or malfunction.
  • Provide customers with preventative maintenance solutions.
  • Maintain 80% productivity.
  • Prevent comebacks/warranties.
  • Perform inspections and preventative maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
  • Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes.
  • Test drive vehicles and test components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair suspension systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.
  • Adjust, remove, and replace clutches and drivelines.
  • Troubleshoot and repair fuel tanks, fifth wheels, trailer hitches, and frames.
  • Perform tandem alignment, front axle king pin, and bushing repairs.
  • Perform basic aluminum and steel wire welding.
  • Utilize machinery to repair or fabricate driveshafts.
  • File, grind, sand, and smooth filled or repaired surfaces.
  • Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical window, and seat operating equipment and trim.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace and service truck.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Diesel Technology certificate/degree is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience with repairing class 7 & 8 trucks and trailers.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Class A CDL is preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
Working Conditions

Exposure to Inside/Outside Conditions, Extreme Temperatures, Humid Conditions, Chemical Hazards, Vibration, Equipment Noise, Work in enclosed and confined spaces.
