At DACHSER, we're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Export Customs Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our export customs team, you will be responsible for ensuring the daily operations of the team are conducted in an efficient and effective manner, while adhering to company and external authority customs requirements and legislation.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise the export customs team effectively in a dynamic and challenging environment
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the export department in the absence of the Export Customs Manager
- Respond to requests for customs services, providing effective and efficient solutions to facilitate adherence to operational and service deadlines
- Continuously review processes to strive for efficiencies without compromising the service level and/or quality of work administered
- Allocate daily tasks to the team of export declarants and ensure they meet their objectives
- Produce, analyze, and manage identified Key Performance Indicators for customs activities and ensure targets are met
- Support the department in resolving day-to-day issues and queries
- Liaise with export supervisors from other shifts to ensure a frictionless handover and effective completion of the overall workload
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures for Customs and AEO processes
- Collaborate with internal customers to maximize synergies and promote cross-team and branch interactions and communications
- Liaise with external customers, Customs authorities, and other agencies as necessary
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory role
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a customs-related role
- Good educational background
- Good knowledge of Third Country Customs Regulations
- Good comprehension of Customs procedures and formalities
- Working knowledge of and familiarity with UK CDS system and proprietary software systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook programs and ASM Sequoia
- An awareness of global geography
- Leadership skills with a proven track record
- Highly adaptable and able to work under pressurized situations
- Self-motivated and able to take responsibility to resolve issues efficiently and effectively
- Excellent problem-solving and analysis skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to create and maintain harmonious relationships with internal and external customers
- Ability to influence and impact people across all levels in the organization
- A high customer service orientation with a passion for delivering quality
