Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Yard Manager/Coach to join our team at Stonar School. As a key member of our equine team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our yard operations, ensuring the highest standards of horse care and welfare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the yard, including the care and maintenance of horses, equipment, and facilities.
  • Supervise and train a team of yard staff, including coaches and grooms, to ensure they are equipped to provide exceptional care and support to our horses and students.
  • Develop and implement effective systems and procedures to ensure the smooth running of the yard, including scheduling, inventory management, and budgeting.
  • Collaborate with our coaching team to develop and deliver high-quality equestrian programs, including training and competition plans.
  • Work closely with our equine team to ensure the health and well-being of our horses, including monitoring their health, administering medication, and providing veterinary care as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including yard operations, horse health, and staff performance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in yard management, preferably in a school or equestrian center setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of equine health and welfare, including first aid and veterinary care.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
