About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Support Worker to join our Families Plus Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting families with children aged 0-5 to make and maintain positive changes in their lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct whole family assessments to identify needs and develop effective support plans.
  • Provide advice and guidance to families, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to overcome challenges.
  • Monitor and review Early Help plans, updating needs as necessary in accordance with safeguarding procedures.
  • Manage a caseload of work, ensuring specialist inputs and effective outcomes are achieved.
  • Liaise and work with contacts from different sectors, including early years settings, health, social care, and the voluntary sector.
Requirements
  • Qualified at NVQ 3 or equivalent in a relevant discipline or working towards an appropriate qualification related to the provision of services to children and families.
  • Considerable relevant experience of evidence-based practice working with vulnerable and disadvantaged children and families.
  • Experience of writing holistic, multi-agency assessments and plans with families.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice, processes, and procedures.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships and engage successfully with colleagues, service users, and partner organisations.
