As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Canadian Solar Inc., we leverage a robust team of in-house energy specialists to drive our global development and power services initiatives.

The chosen candidate will integrate into Recurrent Energy's Global FP&A team, directly reporting to the Global O&M FP&A Manager. This position is pivotal in managing all FP&A functions across the EMEA region (including the UK, Spain, Italy, South Africa, etc.), with a particular emphasis on the UK market and stakeholder engagement. Responsibilities will include the preparation of monthly closing reports and effective communication of financial outcomes to management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a strategic partner for country leaders within the EMEA region, focusing on enhancing forecasts, managing financial risks, and driving performance improvements;
  • Oversee the reporting framework for the EMEA region, which encompasses the preparation of budgets, business plans, and financial statements;
  • Develop, consolidate, and coordinate the budgeting process, including the creation of forecasting models and data management;
  • Support the organization’s monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring thorough account reconciliations and necessary analyses;
  • Regularly monitor the regional cash flow status on a weekly basis;
  • Review and authorize contracts, purchase orders, and payments in line with established authority protocols;
  • Update cost and expense trend reports, analyzing discrepancies and ensuring alignment with forecasts;
  • Generate reports and conduct new analyses as required by management, focusing on project and portfolio performance for the UK entity;
  • Collaborate with other regions and headquarters to provide necessary information and data;
  • Coordinate the activities of team members assigned to the FP&A function in the EMEA region (currently one resource).

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience within a Finance Department, with at least 2 years in an Accounting role;
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience with a focus on people management;
  • Familiarity with US GAAP reporting, alongside a solid understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS;
  • Proven ability to execute functions in compliance with regulations, laws, policies, and standards;
  • Strong communication skills to engage effectively with individuals at all organizational levels;
  • Capable of interacting with individuals tactfully, confidentially, and professionally;
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly SAP and MS Office (with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills); knowledge of Tipalti and Xero is advantageous;
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills;
  • Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of work;
  • Experience in service-oriented companies or maintenance sectors is a plus.

Work Location:

  • Positioned within the EMEA region, with frequent travel to primary locations.
  • Flexibility in location, with options for London, Milan, or Madrid.
