Position Overview

Senior Accounting Lead

Remote (Candidates must be located in the UK for payroll purposes)

Salary: £57,500

Merrifield Consultants is in search of a Senior Accounting Lead to ensure adherence to FRS, Charity SORP, and other statutory and regulatory obligations. This role will also involve delivering comprehensive accounting guidance to internal stakeholders while leading a team of three professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and updating new accounting regulations
  • Collaborating with the Governance and Compliance division
  • Preparing and reviewing FRS and UKGAAP financial reports and technical accounting documentation
  • Providing advice to stakeholders regarding technical accounting matters
  • Engaging with auditors on technical accounting topics
  • Interpreting and applying new FRS developments and standards
  • Delivering internal and ad-hoc training and guidance on technical accounting
  • Assisting the Group Accounting and Reporting Manager
  • Coordinating with the Governance and Compliance division

Qualifications:

  • Fully qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in IFRS accounting standards
  • Exceptional technical accounting and writing capabilities
  • Strong analytical skills, including financial modeling
  • Project management and leadership experience
  • Experience working in environments with remote stakeholders
  • Willingness to make occasional trips to the organization's Country Offices if necessary
