Position Overview:

This pivotal role within the External Reporting and Accounting Policy division focuses on accounting and disclosure issues impacting the organization’s financial reporting. The position is intellectually engaging and necessitates frequent interaction and collaboration with various finance teams, auditors, and other departments. It offers a chance to deepen your understanding of the organization while enhancing your technical accounting expertise and providing guidance that aligns with accounting standards and the business's commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality technical guidance on a diverse array of ad hoc inquiries and proposed corporate activities.
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual report and financial statements, along with other externally published materials.
  • Assist the Corporate Treasury team with debt issuance initiatives.
  • Ensure that the organization’s accounting policies remain current and reflect best practices.
  • Facilitate the enhancement of accounting knowledge among colleagues through formal and informal training sessions.
  • Conduct horizon scanning to stay informed about potential changes to accounting standards.

Qualifications:

  • A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) with several years of post-qualification experience.
  • A comprehensive understanding of IFRS and the capability to articulate complex accounting issues clearly to both technical accountants and non-specialists.
  • Ability to think creatively about challenges and propose innovative solutions.
  • Establishing effective, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in finance and the business is essential due to the role's breadth.
  • As part of a small senior team, the ability to work autonomously and discern when to escalate issues is crucial.

  • Managing time constraints with a calm and thoughtful approach.
  • Providing technical and commercial insights to support audit or consulting clients.
