We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our culinary team at the Gloucester Hotel, part of the Signature Collection By Best Western. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional menus for our guests, working closely with our Head of Kitchen Operations to implement standard recipes and maintain food costs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the kitchen in the absence of the Head of Kitchen Operations, overseeing food preparation and ensuring that all dishes are of the highest quality, cooked to perfection, and presented beautifully.
  • Work closely with the Head of Kitchen Operations to implement standard recipes and maintain food costs.
  • Lead and manage a high-volume kitchen team, ensuring that all staff are trained and motivated to deliver exceptional food and service.
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas and concepts, working closely with the Head of Kitchen Operations and other members of the culinary team.
  • Manage kitchen inventory and supplies, ensuring that all stock is ordered and stored efficiently.
  • Ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to, and that the kitchen is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Requirements

  • Several years of experience working in a similar role in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong background in a variety of cuisines and knowledge of modern cooking techniques and equipment.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement new menu ideas and concepts.
  • Experience in menu planning, cost control, and ordering supplies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other members of the kitchen team and front-of-house staff.
