About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Vistry Group PLC. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for the procurement of materials and plant to meet the company's exact requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure quality and performance of materials meet acceptable standards.
- Consolidate purchases of materials to achieve maximum economic benefit.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.
- Inform other departments of relevant information regarding changes in materials, major price movements, delivery lead times, and individual supply situations.
- Purchase materials in accordance with Group purchase deals.
- Identify and procure necessary materials.
- Send out enquiries for materials, collate and analyze quotations.
- Place orders with suitable suppliers for specified materials.
- Advise Surveyors on costs for budgetary purposes.
- Work with the Site Manager to progress the delivery of supplies in line with the site building program.
- Resolve discrepancies between orders, goods received, and invoices, and authorize payments.
- Attend site meetings to review progress and decide on future action.
- Work efficiently under pressure while maintaining commercial awareness.
- Establish, monitor, and ensure payment of negotiated rebate agreements.
- Analyze markets to make recommendations for possible specification changes that would represent savings without detracting from quality requirements.
- Liaise with other departments and disciplines to establish or improve supplier and inter-department relations.
